Story of our Wine

Fattoria La Striscia, owned by the Occhini Family since the 18th century is located just 800 meters from the old city walls of Arezzo. The Estate consists of 14 hectares of south-facing vineyards registered as DOCG Chianti and certified Organic.

The winery, whose ancient origins have been documented since 1850, has always operated with particular care towards the territory, which reflects through the splendidly elegant and pleasant wines.

While maintaining the traditional, the Estate gives due importance to adapting to the needs of the times. in 2001, the company entered into a stage of renewal, with the replantation of all the property’s vineyards and the upgradation of the old winery.

In light of the high quality and agricultural excellence, the award winning wines are also certified organic.

The grapes undergo a thorough fermentation and maturation process, and are ultimately bottled in the Villa’s underground cellars, characterized by their massive 15th century walls and vaulted ceilings, making the wine experience all the more profound and unforgettable for you.

The world’s best sommelier Luca Martini is now associated with our very own wines!

At La Striscia we can help you organise your wine tasting in Tuscany, staring from our own vineyards.

A typical wine tasting tour consists of a stroll through the vineyards under the Tuscan sun, at whose periphery runs the ancient Roman aqueduct and where the family owned watch tower, Torre di Gnicche, is located.
A guided visit to the wine cellar will demonstrate the process of wine making the fermentation, aging and bottling.
The tasting of the wines is offered through pairings with typical and seasonal local products of the region, either at the Restaurant or at the Tower with a Panoramic view.a range of language options are provided according to your preference.
